About HomiePlan
HomiePlan builds free calculators and plain-English cost guides for home improvement projects — your smarter companion for planning renovations without the guesswork.
What this site is
A small library of tools that answer one question well: how much material does this job need, and roughly what will it cost? Each calculator shows its formula, so you can verify the result yourself instead of accepting a black box.
How the numbers are produced
- Material quantities come from standard formulas (area, perimeter, waste factors) and published manufacturer coverage figures.
- Price ranges are compiled from published retail pricing and typical US contractor rates, then rounded to a realistic band rather than a single false-precision figure.
- Update dates are shown on every guide. Prices move; if a page is more than about a year old, treat the numbers as a starting point only.
What this site is not
It is not a quote, and it is not a substitute for a local contractor walking your property. It does not account for structural issues, permits, code requirements or hazardous materials. Use it to plan and to sanity-check bids — not as the final word.
How the site is funded
Display advertising. That is the whole business model — no paid placements, no sponsored rankings. You can read the details in the disclaimer.
